Taking the Fall Margaret Chatwin Books
I am sorely tempted to give a recap of the storyline but will do you the favor of not repeating the blurb in my own words.Mike is a very sexy character. I'll be honest and say that I found him physically attractive although I have no clue what so ever what his facial features are. I'm not sure if Chatwin simply didn't put enough of an emphasis on it or if I was simply an unobservant reader. (I believe its the latter) But he had a very nice body. Haha, let's say that is the understatement of the year. He is truly a very sexy character. But more than physically, he is pretty much the ideal man. He is caring, brave, strong, attentive, sensitive, protective, funny... I feel that if I finish the last sentence with a period and forgot some amazing feature, I wouldn't be doing him justice. He is a character I seriously enjoyed reading about and getting to know. He was pretty much the highlight of the book for me. I found that if he was a part of a certain scene, I would enjoy that part of the book exponentially more. He was witty and fun and always a joy to see what he would do and say next.
Karen is someone who I didn't care too much for as the story began. I found her to be naive, defensive, rude, self absorbed... However, as the story line progresses, she still tends to be these things but we not only begin to understand why she is that way but we also see another side to her. Once the reader gets to know Karen, she really is an alright person. Chatwin does a great job developing her character.
I loved seeing their romance take shape. They are a couple that truly compliment each other and are clearly meant for one another. They go through a few different stages and them fighting their attraction for one reason or the other and it was fun to watch. One of the things I enjoyed most is the chemistry they share. It is all PG-13. Although there is a bit of a steamy scene somewhere in there...
About three quarters into the book, there is a lull where the excitement and romance are considerably at ease. I still enjoyed this lull but after the fast pace, actions scenes and the pleasant romance I felt as if I was going through some sort of withdrawal. Not that these things weren't present in the mentioned scenes, they were simply done at a slower pace.
Taking the Fall is a great read. It is witty, romantic (why does it always come down to this for me?), funny and definitely a book that will be enjoyed.

Taking the Fall Margaret Chatwin Books Reviews
I really enjoyed this book, it was fast moving and suspensful. If you are looking for a good short read I highly recommend this book! It keeps you on the edge of your seat and I couldn't put it down! For and even better read try her newest book 101. One of my favorite books I have read this year!
obviously i love all of Margaret Chatwin's books. Mike and Karen just grab you from the beginning, youre interested from page one, and its full of action and twists to keep you interested until the very end. You find yourself caring for the characters, laughing with them, worrying for them, and at times you just cant read fast enough! Awesome story, you wont want to put it down!
I read this book in a few hours because the story is interesting and easy to read. Margaret does a great job setting up the tension and throws us into a tense manhunt. I enjoyed much of the story and hesitated to leave a review because I think this book deserves a higher rating than I'm giving it. Margaret is a very good writer. I would have rated this book 5 stars, but I prefer the main characters to not sleep around. Although Margaret didn't dwell on the other relationships, they bothered me enough that I don't feel comfortable giving this a 5 star rating.
I have never written a review before and don't claim to be very good with words, but I will give my honest opinion of this book. I thought it was a very good story and kept me interested right from the beginning. I loved Mike's character and could see why Karen fell for him, but I have to admit that Karen really bugged me in the beginning. Her character did get better, but I don't believe anybody could be as stupid and mean as Karen was portrayed in the beginning?! Like I said she did grow on me in the end.
The author has proclaimed this a clean romance, and it is for the most part, but there were a couple of scenes that were getting a little steamy before they ended. And like another reviewer said, I didn't care for the morals of Mike and Karen. The sleeping around bugged me too.
Just one more thing that bugged me a little in the reading of the book was the jumping right from Mike's mind into Karen's and then back again. Sometimes I had to re-read a paragraph to understand who's head we were in at the moment. Am I being a little nit picky? Probably.
Over all it was a good read, but I am only giving it 4 stars because of the things that bugged me. Will I read another book from this author? Yes!
Mike and Karen were thrown together because of a dangerous situation and it was as if they were meant to be together from the very start. They were perfect for each other and they both knew it from the very beginning, but Karen being the independent person that she is had a hard time letting herself put down the walls she built up around her Heart to let Mike in. I think we can all relate in some way with Karen we want the world to see us as strong and independent but desperately long to have someone to take care of us. One of the main reasons I love Margaret's books is because they are about people who you feel you can relate to on one level or another.
I love it. An employee that does their job too well. So well, in fact, that it places her life in danger. Enter a man who will betray her. A cabin in the woods. I knew what would happen, but this is a great story about life and the ability to pick yourself up after you have been knocked down. The tension Margaret Chatwin created by very successfully twisting and drawing out the conclusion made me read this cover to cover, unable to stop.
"Your first name should be Independent. Independent Hill."
Fear is only an emotion. What you do with it will define you.
